The Wait Is Over! Keller’s Apple Orchard Opens Saturday, August 15
🍎 Apple picking season is officially here! 🍎
We’re excited to announce that Keller’s Apple Orchard in Oswego opens for U-Pick apples this Saturday, August 15!
There’s just something about walking through the orchard, finding that perfect apple and picking it right from the tree. Whether apple picking is one of your family’s yearly traditions or this will be your first visit, we’re ready to welcome you back to the orchard.
More Than 30 Apple Varieties
Did you know we grow more than 30 varieties of apples at Keller’s?
Different varieties ripen throughout the season, which means there’s always something new to look forward to as we move from late summer into fall. Our apple season typically continues through October, depending on weather and availability.
Keep an eye on our website and social media throughout the season to find out which varieties are ready for picking.
How U-Pick Works
Apple picking takes place at our Oswego orchard. Before heading into the orchard, guests will first stop at the Apple Barn to purchase a picking bag.
Once you’re in the orchard, look for the rows marked “Ready for Picking.” Those signs will help you know exactly where to find the apples that are ripe and ready to enjoy.
When you find the perfect apple, gently roll it upward and give it a little twist to remove it from the tree. And remember—only pick what will fit inside your bag!
A Few Tips Before You Visit
We want everyone to have a fun and safe day in the orchard, so here are a few things to remember:
- Wear closed-toe shoes. Fallen apples can attract bees, and orchard ground can be uneven.
- Pets are not permitted in the orchard.
- Please leave large bags, baskets and ladders at home.
- Professional photography sessions are not permitted.
- Children ages 4 and younger may enter the orchard free, although a picking bag is not included.
- Groups should contact us at groups@kellersfarmstand.com at least 24 hours before visiting.
- Also, please keep in mind that apple picking is separate from our Fall Festivities admission.
An Oswego Tradition That Keeps Growing
The Keller family has been farming in Illinois for more than 170 years, and our first apple orchard was planted in Oswego in 2004.
Since then, the orchard has tripled in size, allowing us to grow an incredible selection of apples that ripen throughout the season.
And if you love Keller’s apples but don’t have time to pick your own, we also offer fresh pre-picked apples at both our Oswego and Naperville Farmstands during the season.
