When Mother Nature Has Other Plans 🌽

If you’ve been looking for Keller’s sweet corn this summer, you may have noticed that our supply has been more limited at times this year.

Each season, we stagger our sweet corn plantings instead of planting everything at once. This helps us have fresh corn ready throughout the summer and allows us to pick it at just the right time for the sweet, fresh flavor our customers love.

But farming always comes with one unpredictable partner: Mother Nature.

This year, we’ve experienced heavy rainfall along with fierce storms and strong winds, all of which have taken a toll on portions of our sweet corn crop.

As a result, we’ve had smaller quantities available at times and occasional gaps while we wait for the next planting to mature.

The good news? We still have more corn growing! 🌽

We’ll continue harvesting it as soon as it’s ready and getting it to our farmstands as quickly as possible.

Every growing season is different, and this year has certainly reminded us that no matter how carefully farmers plan, Mother Nature ultimately has the final say.
